Kanae Shimokawa (下川 香苗 Shimokawa Kanae, born January 1, 1964 in Japan[1]) is a Japanese author known best for writing light novels. She wrote eight light novels based on Ai Yazawa's Gokinjo Monogatari.

Collaborations with YazawaEdit

Shimokawa has adapted many of Yazawa's manga series or the adaptations of Yazawa's works into light novels. Before she wrote the Gokinjo Monogatari: Fashionable Love Story novels, she wrote the Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai: Romantic Story novels.

In 1997, she released Orufeusu wa Sen no Tsubasa o Motsu, which Ai Yazawa illustrated. Sometime in 2004, Shimokawa wrote the novelization of the Kagen no Tsuki film. She went on the write the light novels for the Nana film and it's sequel.
